CCW Christmas Countdown Day 28

Something was wrong with my Blogger last night and won't let me post or save anything!

Anyway let's hope this post goes through despite it being late.

Today is the 28th! My dad's birthday! Both my parents are November babies and yours truly a December one whoohoo!

Dad turns 62 today! They're having a little gathering back home with all my aunts, uncles and the lot - can you tell how jealous I am right now?

Ok enough of that then, today we've got Lou's lovely projects to share with you.

Hope you like them!

CCW Christmas Countdown Day 27

I've been loving everyone's project during this whole month but am particularly curious about today's.

Coming from a country whose temperatures range from oh 24 - 33 degrees, we don't usually need hand warmers LOL

Seriously, I need to check these out and see if I can make them for myself! I am definitely not made for winter, although that said I think over the years I've somehow adapted so I can withstand certain temperatures more than visitors from home.

Off you go to DT Susi's blog!

Mini kit projects

Sorry I'm late!

I'm sure you've seen the lovely projects my DT mates have made here.

Here's sharing mine.

First off I took a 6 x 12' cardstock and turned it into a frame.

Just score the Cs at 1", 5.5", 6.5" and 11". I made the window in front using one of my Spellbinders dies. Embellish to your heart's content and you've got a frame ready to display your treasured photo!

My other project involved some recycling. I used a kitchen roll cut in half (or you could easily use a toilet roll) and covered it with patterned paper.

The giant flowers in the kit allowed me to use them as covers for the top and bottom of the display stand. Since the flowers already have a pierced hole in the middle, it was easy to insert a wooden skewer and use that as my photo stand.

Here's a photo of me and my brothers waaaaaayyyyy back. LOL

Hope you like the projects, if you love the papers you can get the mini kit here.

I apologise if it looks like I'm neglecting this blog. My pregnancy is now approaching the final trimester and I'm actually getting breathless typing this HAHA I am sooo wanting to do some scrapping but mojo has been quite skimp lately.

Anyway, hope to catch everyone again soon!

Scrap Map Challenge

Woah it's been a long long time since I've posted here!

I've been on a hiatus since we went back to Brunei for the summer holidays. Will try to blog about home in another post.

Anyway Scrap Map is here again!

This time we've got a lovely sketch and my how the GDT and DT have come up with such lovely layouts! As for yours truly, my mojo is stuck =( but will do my best to finish it soon. Moreover, hubby's got the flu oh no! Hope the rest of us won't get affected though.

Here's the sketch

A Wedding

Well a layout of our wedding day anyway =)

Using the gorgeous, gorgeous Prima Almanac papers and embellishments along with some papers from G45's Le Romantique. They go quite well together.

I also used this sketch as my layout base.

Our wedding took place on my birthday in 2009. In our culture, the 'bersanding' is the grandest of all the usual three events (yes you read that right and it was super tiring!) - although being treated like a celebrity was kinda fun...for a while LOL

See you again soon!

Scrap scrap scrap

Hi everyone!

I've been productive. Since it was National Scrapbook Day in the US, me and my friends (back in Brunei) thought it would be fun to have an online crop! We usually do this back home since with work and what not it's quite hard to gather everyone at the same time.

So it was set, I was the hostess last night and hosted the crop for 3 hours. We had one challenge per hour. Brunei time 8-11pm while I joined in from here from 1-4pm. Vast time difference but we had loads of fun!

I didn't manage to scrap all the challenges set yet but I did start today with one.

The first challenge was a 'random photo pick'. No cheating! LOL Pick a photo from a stack of photos or let someone from your family pick one for you.

Here's what I came up with.

I don't know what happened but I probably had just the perfect amount of light on my photo because I do say it looks awesome! LOL

A lot of feedback from this challenge was that most of us picked a photo that we wouldn't immediately scrap but since we had to, we did!

I used the luscious MME products from Creative Craft World and finally got to use this cute bike button (handmade!) from Susibee. You can get them here and here.

Hope you had a lovely day.

It's STILL glooy where we are but I'm not complaning. I got some scrapping done!

Now off to scrap some more!

Time for May's Scrap Map

Hello!

Hope the long weekend brings some sunshine or at least more scrapping time for me whee!

Sue has created this sketch for us to play with.

I came up with this layout (rotated the sketch) using the ever so gorgeous Amerian Crafts, Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection (one of my absolute fave this year!)

No there's nothing wrong with the screen, the photos did capture the sunshine on that one sunny but very cold weekend a few weeks back! Decided to take out little one to the park and have a go with some bubbles! Lots of fun!

Hope you come and join us for the Scrap Map!

Do visit here for more inspiration from our DT and GDT!

See you soon!

Itty bitty cards

I made some today using some reaaaallllyyy old stickers from American Crafts which I still love.

They turned out kinda cute and did cheer up the gloominess that is the weather today.

I've been feeling tired lately since my son hasn't been taking his afternoon naps!

The good thing out of that is he sleeps a little early at night, if you can call 830pm early.

I also made a retro looking card using some washi tape I got from Lou at CCW.

Hope you like! I'll be back soon with some layouts.

Weekend layout share

It's still raining where I am at the moment so I'm going to make the most of it with scrapping and creating!

Anyway here's two layouts I did recently. Pretty girly than my usual style but I do quite love them!

See you soon!

Card share

I used to think that buying 6x6 paper pads would be okay. Err apparently not if you don't use them much! LOL So in the spirit of stash busting, I've been making some more cards. Especially with papers I don't usually use on layouts.

Here's two I made yesterday which I quite like! So girly!

(Papers - My Mind's Eye, Sentiment and die set - My Favorite Things, Pearls - Papermania, Doily - Creative Craft World)

(Papers - Dear Lizzy Neapolitan (AmCrafts), Sentiment - Lawn Fawn, Hearts stamp - SJ Little Musings)

It's been raining for the past week. The rain reminds me so much of home especially when there's thunder but I think I've had enough! C'mon Mr Sun come out come out wherever you are! Well he did show his face for about a minute or two today so I'm thankful for that.

Hope it's sunny where you are!

Shaped cards

I'm still pretty much a novice in cardmaking (sometimes I think layouts are easier! LOL) but I've been trying out my skills.

I'm currently taking an online class at Onlinecardclasses.com The regular instructors include my fave Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner plus other awesome guests instructors.

I recently tried shaped cards cut using my spellbinders nestabilities and here's what I came up with.

There are other classes that you can choose and they're not only for cardmaking. I loved 'Inspiration showcase' because loads of techniques were taught via videos too!! With lifetime access I think it's worth the money!

Anyway I'll leave you with the cards I made before I start to ramble further!

I'm back

Sincere apologies from moi on the sudden hiatus.

It's just that we've had to move to a new apartment (with really short notice) so you can imagine the flurry of activity I was in. We've sort of settled in the new place now (at least my craft room's ready lol)

Anyway to catch up on things, I'm sure you've seen the DTs lovely creations for the April mini kit and also the new April scrap map is up (you can view it at the top right corner there). I also had the opportunity to work with the lovely, lovely April kit.

The papers are from Pink Paislee's 'Prairie Hill' collection and oh how I love them! The muted colours with added vintage flair was perfect to go with black and white photos OR with muted coloured photos that you can easily edit with a lot of available apps =)

Here's one I particularly like -

If you're a subscriber, hope you have fun with the kit!

You can also purchase these bargain kits (at only £9.99) as one-offs too. They provide just the ample amount of paper, cardstock and embellishments to gear up your mojo - love that!

I have a couple of layouts to share so hopefully I'll be back soon!

Don't forget to join in on the challenges here.

Till then =)
