Scrap Map Saturday and Crazy Card Challenge

I'm sorry about these two being a tad late! Been busy hosting some visitors =)

Anyway this is my LO for CCW's Scrap Map Saturday - Loving the banners! And we were also to use the colours - blue red and white.

This LO is very special to me as I can finally showcase us coming to London to start our married life together. I thought a typed up journal was appropriate since I don't think I'd want to write something too long har har.

This is my card for the Crazy Card Challenge - same colour scheme as the LO plus using 3 ribbons.

Hope you join us from some creative fun! Enjoy the royal wedding tomorrow! We're all set for a stay-in with loads of yummy food!

On a mission

To destash that is! I've been quite the hoarder these past few months so at the moment I'm staying away from online shopping! Or at least until CCW gets in Sweet Threads that is LOL

Anyway, here's a couple of projects I've done in the hopes of using up my never (it seems) ending stash.

For some of my really (hmm circa 2007) old embellishments, I've used them to make these really fun simple cards. I still think they're cute though!

Using my hoard of Tim Holtz's 'Lost and found' paper pad I've created this travel journal following the Live with Prima show. The tutorial was done by Julie Fei Fan Balzer and like she says it's quick and easy and uses up 12x12s in a cinch! So love love that!

I've made some layouts using some gorgeous papers that I've rediscovered.

I've finally used my Prima masks - and I love the effect it has with this LO of my son. I love this photo of him taken using the Hipstamatic app on my iphone ages ago!

Used my Crate Paper 'Restoration' line to create this mighty simple LO. This LO is essentially my style - simple and direct to the point har har but I love it since I want it to focus more on the photo. And the twine OH boy do I love twine!!

That's all for now folks, I'm in the midst of creating my husband's birthday mini and here's a peek. I hope I can share it with you soon!

Scrap Map Saturday

Good morning!

Well it is indeed good since I've just finished my layout! It's now 1.16am and it's the weekend! Whoohoo! I've got my Scrap Map Saturday LO to share with you today. This time the sketch was designed by the fabulous Lou and the theme is shapes.

I've always loved the top note/bracket shape so I chose to play around with them. I'm not usually a pink/girly scrapbooker but sometimes I do love a bit of sweetness!

For the LO I adhered the diecut PP onto black CS to make it pop. I then took a topnote chipboard piece and adhered that to a Prima 6x6 PP and cut around it. The photos were stuck on using foam pads to give it more dimension. The chipboard piece I initially painted with glimmer glam but I didn't like the overall outcome so I slathered on some crackle paint followed by some glossy multi medium so the crackle bits don't come off.

I added Prima lace all around the the frame by sticking it on the back and then adhered the whole thing on to the diecut PP. This seriously is the bulkiest LO I've done so far! After that I just decorated the corners of the frame with some fabulous flowers and leaves and of course some bling.

For the title I used thickers for 'always' and the other words were stamped using some clear stamps that I have. Other embellishments included a journalling spot and chipboard stickers to fill up the white space.

Alright enough rambling, enjoy your weekend everyone and do stop by at Creative Craft World's challenge site - what have you got to lose right?

Tata for now!

Cards

I've never actually been in the card making business because I'm usually scrapbooking. However, being in my new DT there are card challenges and I do love a challenge. My scrapping friends back home have also set for a cardmaking challenge to break away from our usual LOs.

I was skeptical that I'd succeed or even venture much into cards but boy am I so wrong! Once I started I was hooked! It didn't start easy though LOL especially when I attempted paper piecing some cupcakes! I felt it took me forever! But once I was over the hill I was rolling along just fine (teehee!)

Now on to pictures! (Don't be harsh, I'm new to this =D)

Love my Anyas! Still have to practice using my promarkers though

Love my Penny Black hedgehogs! Used my distress inks to colour the four hedgies above.

I love easel cards and can't wait to make more!

I'm keen on trying out more card styles! I've also found out that card making allows me to use more of the stamps I've been collecting so that's definitely a plus for me!

Before I leave, here's a LO I did some time ago but forgot to share. It's a LO of me and my dad way back when I was a little girl. I finally used my October Afternoon's Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite papers for this and this photo suited it perfectly!

See you soon!

Back! With a Scrap Map Saturday!

I've definitely been neglecting this blog. My bad! It's not that I haven't been getting crafty, it's the fact that for the past month my teeth and gums have been having problems!

As a start, I've been deathly terrified of dentists (I'm not going to go into any more details LOL) but since the severe pain in my gums (feels like a bolt of electricity going round and round) I wouldn't care if the dentist pulled out several teeth!

Long story short, I've been seeing my oh so kind and oh so soft spoken dentist for about a month now and I'm getting better. Although the worst is yet to come (will be using anaesthetics) I'm feeling a bit better and cannot wait for the treatments to be over. Urgh!

*sigh* I digress, let's move on to less scary things.

Here's my first ever LO as a DT member for Creative Craft World. Hope you like it. The sketch was created by DT member Sarah and the theme is 'Boys will be boys'.

On this layout I whipped out most of my Tim Holtz stash ranging from stamps to idealogy to the patterned paper! The patterned paper itself was already grunged but I decided to stamp the border all around with one of his grunge set stamps with Black Soot distress ink. I also stamped the wings with embossing ink and embossed it with Zing! Copper embossing powder (one of my faves! Although saying that I hardly do embossing hehe)

I distressed the Thickers and the tissue tape with Walnut stain distress ink to make them blend more with the overall theme. I loved getting messy with distress inks! I don't go grungy all the time but for this theme, it's a go for me LOL. Pictures were from last year's surprise party for my husband. Just us and a few of our very close friends from home.

Do visit us and participate! Who knows you might win and even have the chance to become a guest designer!

Until next time, have a nice weekend! Spring is here yeay!
