Ribbon reel challenge #2

Happy Sunday everyone,
Here's a look at my yummy prize from my challenge win over at ribbon reel.

Today I'd like to share another creation (which took me 3 whole days to finish since mojo was lacking) but I loved the challenge! It was a 'shabby strawberries and cream' theme and the inspiration photo given was breathtaking!

Anyway here's my card for challenge #2 by ribbon reel.

I used Pink Paislee's 'Sweetness' collection and Basic Grey's 'Capella' for the background papers. including a paper doily which I inked very lightly.

Other embellishments included a dress form laser cut chipboard piece with the stand cut off because it got in the way of my twine and button layer LOL so it ended up becoming a dress. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and it's becoming one of my fave one to use. I finished off the card with some Prima sculpture flowers and pearls.

Hope you like! You still have time to join the challenge so why don't you?

I'm having quite a crafty weekend since I feel the need to use up more stash and so far mojo's been quite good. I have a couple of layouts and cards to share too so stay tuned!

See you soon!

Scrap Map Saturday

I'm back with a Scrap Map Saturday! For this week it's an 'anything goes' sketch designed by our fabulous Lou. Here's the sketch followed by my take.

My layout is simply titled 'Cousins' and it's a picture of me with them during a family wedding function last year. The theme was 'Bollywood' so we all had fun dressing up and eating yummy Indian cuisine - didn't do any dancing though since we were super tired from the morning function. A malay wedding is a long and big affair - fun but most if not all the time extremely exhausting.

I digress! For the layout I finally used this Making Memories (correct me if I'm wrong) green polka dot patterned paper I've been hoarding (well I did buy two and have used one a few years back! Oh my!) I thought it worked well with the Hipstamatic photo we took.

For the border around the picture I used a Heidi Swapp 12x12 set mask which were in the 'brackets' design. I swiped some brown chalk ink all over the mask to create a border. I then took some plain mulberry flowers, glimmer misted and distressed them. For the photo mat, I just used a piece of scrap plain patterned paper and also a Hambly screen print in the 'dressform' design. Other embellishments I used were some felt border stickers and also lace trim. For a more feminine feel I added some swirly bling from Zva Creative.

I hope you like my creations so far on my blog. If anyone wants to know more about what I've posted feel free to ask in the comments section. Of course, all of you are already creatively wonderful and I'm humbled that I actually have followers! LOL Thank you!

Last week, I was somewhat mojoless because my boys were under the weather but now that they're both healthy and happy again, I'm hoping for more layouts! I really need to thin down the hoard of papers I have seriously! I did do some cards but I will share that in a later post =)

Until then, do hop on over to CCW and take part! Enjoy the process and have fun creating!

Before I forget

It's coming towards the end of May and I'm just amazed (alarmed, rather) at how quick time is passing us by!

Anyway, a few months ago I requested for a shot as a guest designer for A Trip Down Memory Lane since they were having calls for monthly designers. I was lucky enough to get a callback and was asked to design with some lovely papers from Webster's Pages - one of the companies whose papers I absolutely adore (although not necessarily know what to do with!) LOL

I received a lovely bunch of papers, cardstock and trim from their line 'Country Estate.' After the initial gushing over how gorgeous the papers were, I had the daunting task of actually creating something from them! I tried my best and was pleasantly pleased with the results.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Mel Hand for the wonderful chance of creating for them.

Hope to be back soon - the chilly change in weather seems to be affecting my throat =s got to up the Vit Cs!

Scrap Map Saturday

Hey everyone! It's another Scrap Map Saturday at CCW and this week's challenge is quite unique.

You are to scrap following an album sleeve cover. You can either use the one provided by our very own Sue or choose one of your own.

I'll share mine when I've actually completed it (mojo has been away it seems) but do go over to the challenge blog to see what fantastic layouts our creative team has done!

Anyway, here's the sketch for this week

and the album cover I've chosen to follow - I love the whimsical look of it!

Lenka - The Show (love her cutesy songs too!)

Blessed Thursday

I am so overwhelmed! I had a happy Monday because I won a challenge at ribbon reel.

And today I won these yummy yummy stamps from one of my newly found fave stamp company = Lawn Fawn!

I love their stamps and bought some a few months ago because they are so different from other stamps that I usually see. In the UK you can get them at Make The Day Special.

Anyway, they've been showcasing their new stamps over the past three days and today was the final reveal of all 9 of them. I did follow with the commenting here and there since they were having giveaways but did NOT expect to get anything!

You can imagine the rate of my heartbeat when I saw my name (but it could've been tons of other Noras LOL) but then I saw my profile picture AND my comment! Fortunately I was able to contain myself from screaming but you crafters can imagine my excitement right?

This has indeed been a blessed week for me and I have a feeling it's happening so I don't miss home and my family back there too much =( but cest la vie right?

Till then! I'm one happy bunny! Here's the post.

P/s - I'd like to thank all those who visited and commented on my blog posts, reading your comments really make me happy and appreciated especially in a hobby that not everyone gets =) thank you from the bottom of my heart! xxx

More details on that here.

I'm so so happy!

Their 2nd challenge is up now and the theme is 'Shabby strawberries and cream'. Can't wait to have a go at it since I'm feelin' all shabby chic at the moment!

Scrap Map

Hope my post will be up this time since blogger went kaput the last few days. Anyway here's the sketch for Scrap Map Saturday. The theme was actually 'birds' but silly me I totally forgot since I was so absorbed with the picture placement =p

Not to worry though since I used papers from Echo Park's 'A walk in the park' kit, I went ahead and made a 2nd layout - luckily with some birds (or ducks rather) in the layout!

So here's my take - first one following the sketch and second one actually following the 'birds' theme.

See you soon!

Here's my card which is a rectangular shaped one =)

P/s - sorry the post came a bit late - looks like I haven't mastered bloggers scheduled posting as yet! LOL

Ribbon Reel Challenge

I made this card about a week ago using some My Mind's Eye papers and some stamping. I was also eager to use the cabochon clay flowers that I made myself using some molds I got from ebay. Anyway, shortly after that, I saw a post on UKS about this new challenge blog by a company called ribbon reel.

When I took a look at my card I realized I used the colour palette presented so I'm entering my card! Hope you have a go because the prize looks super delicious!

Thanks for stopping by!
